Phantom Stallion E-Newsletter December 2009 Dear Readers, The Phantom Stallion roams the Calico Mountains. He is our dream horse -- yours and mine -- but the mountains are real and home to many living wild horses. For now. On December 28, BLM will send helicopters up over the snowy range, searching out wild horses -- for three winter months! I have been in the Calico Mountains in winter. The days are bleak and the nights are bitter cold, but the horses know how to stay warm until helicopters whip up blizzards of fresh snow with their rotors, and drive the mustangs galloping from their hiding places onto the slippery snow and ice. Foals will fall behind. Horses will be injured. Some may die. This is not a story. This is the truth. Please help STOP THE CALICO ROUNDUP
I hope you are warm and cozy and I know the wild horses are thankful for you, and would tell you if they could. Love, Terri Parents and Teachers: feel free to email any questions to wildhorsepower@aol.com and please put PARENT or TEACHER in the subject line. These will reach me within 24 hours. Art with a WILD Message!
Terri's giving away TWO copies of posters featuring this beautiful buckskin mustang! The first art that reaches Terri will AUTOMATICALLY WIN one poster All other artists will be entered into a drawing which will take place December 15 Rules:

Want to tell President Obama what you want him to know about rounding up wild horses? "They've spotted horses," Brynna said this afternoon as she reined Penny to a stop. The blind mare gave a worried nicker. Ace straightened to his full fourteen hand height. Snow crunched as he shifted from hoof to hoof. Then, he shivered. Did he rememberĘthat sound from his last day of freedom? We'd ridden out to shake off the warmth from the house and the fullness from too many holiday cookies. It was supposed to be a nice break for my stepmother and me, and it was, until we noticed a silver flicker in the sky. Where is Terri Farley? Want a weekly update on authors visiting your area?
